Girl arrested after her terrorism joke on Twitter

  • A 14-year-old Dutch girl was arrested after she tweeted a "joke" about terrorism.

Her name is apparently Sarah and she tweeted to American Airlines saying "hello my name's Ibrahim and I'm from Afghanistan. I'm part of Al Qaida and on June 1st I'm gonna do something really big bye." American Airlines replied back saying it takes "these threats very seriously. Your IP address and details will be forwarded to security and the FBI."

The tweet was later deleted and it's not clear as to what the airline's action was. Sarah's account on Twitter was suspended but there are screenshots that show her responses on Twitter.

"omfg I was kidding," she said.

There was tiny bit of satisfaction amid this mess since she also tweeted saying that the incident made her gain 1k followers.
