Former NSA, CIA head: Terrorists are totally into Gmail
September 17 , 2013
The former head of both CIA and NSA, Michael Hayden said terrorists have a favorite when it comes to email - Gmail. He said email is "the preferred Internet service provider of terrorists worldwide." Washington Post reported that it seemed as if he meant email instead of "Internet service provider".
Hayden said email is ubiquitous and free so "of course it is". The former head also discussed issues regarding security and liberty while speaking at an education forum near the White House. Hayden referred to the Internet as being "quintessentially American" and said the country "could be fairly charged with the militarization of the WWW".
According to him, considering the American origins of the internet that justify the NSA's conduct, the future generations will remember it just the way "the Romans are remembered for their roads."
