Finland: 17-year-old convicted for over 50,000 cyber hacks

Julius Kivimaki, a Finnish teenager, has been found guilty of around 50,700 cyber hacks.
The 17-year-old’s cyber attacks targeted institutions like MIT and Harvard University and included hijacking of emails, stealing credit card details and blocking website traffic, according to court documents.
The district court in Finland sentenced him to a two-year suspended prison term. The judge noted that despite the seriousness of his crimes, Kivimaki was under 17 when he committed them.
