Facebook's new photo-sharing app similar to Instagram

  • Facebook has launched a photo-sharing smartphone app called Camera, allowing users to take pictures and share them straightaway rather than having to upload them one at a time.

The launch is unexpected as the program uses similar features to Instagram, which the social network is in the process of taking over.

Both apps allow users to add filters and tweak photographs.

Facebook has agreed to pay $1 billion for Instagram though the acquisition has not yet been completed.

Camera is currently only compatible with Apple's smartphones and tablets.
