Facebook to open artificial intelligence lab in Paris
June 3 , 2015
Facebook is opening an artificial intelligence lab in Paris, the social networking giant’s first such research lab outside the US.
The work in the lab will be on “ambitious” long-term projects such as natural language processing and image and speech recognition.
Meanwhile, senior employees of Facebook have played down the threat of Artificial Intelligence.
Announcing the Paris lab, the company said in a blog post that though its work in the field was at a relatively early stage, it had “already made some encouraging progress.”
