Facebook to become a little like Twitter

  • Facebook has recently announced that television broadcasts and news outlets including NBC's Today Show, Slate, BSkyB, Buzzfeed and CNN will be able to use Facebook content. The company has allowed the public comments of its users to be posted along with their programming.

This practice will allow Facebook to extend its reach as an information destination and become similar to Twitter.

Facebook is allowing the media companies to show what the different trends are on social media and the companies will be able to track what is popular among people in different age groups.

The social networking site also introduced the concept of hashtags this June allowing for a better organization and search of topics. This feature had been made popular by Twitter.
