Facebook rolls out Place Tips service across US
June 10 , 2015
Social media giant Facebook has started its Place Tips service that allows US businesses to send updates on people’s smartphones when they are in the vicinity.
To boost its reach, Facebook is giving Bluetooth beacon devices to firms for free on request.
The tech firm had been experimenting with Place Tips on a trial basis in New York City, and has now decided to roll it out across the country.
For now, it works on Apple devices, but a version supporting Android devices is expected to be out later.
