Facebook planning to allow under-13 users, reports
June 5 , 2012
Facebook is reportedly planning to soon allow children younger than 13 years old to access the social networking site under parental supervision.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Facebook is developing technology that will link children's accounts to those of their parents.
Facebook currently bans under-13s from joining the site because of child pornography, cyber bullying and trolling.
The social network boasts more than 900 million users worldwide and opening it up to under-13s could significantly lift those numbers.
