Facebook launches free calling feature for U.S. iPhones

  • Facebook launched a feature on Thursday that allows free calling for U.S. iPhone users.

Users can now make calls via the Facebook Messenger app as long as they have a wifi or a cellular-data connection.

The feature enables callers to avoid carrier charges.

Facebook said it is working on adding the feature for Android and BlackBerry users.

The world’s biggest social network is expected to expand the feature overseas in coming months.
