Facebook buys virtual reality pioneer for $2B

Mark Zuckerberg is quite excited about buying virtual-reality headset maker Oculus for $2B.
"After games we're going to make Oculus a platform for many other experiences," he said. "Imagine enjoying a court side seat at a game, studying in a classroom of students and teachers all over the world or consulting with a doctor face-to-face - just by putting on goggles in your home."
He mentioned that he previously hasn't experienced anything such as the headset. "Today's acquisition is a long-term bet on the future of computing."
Chris Taylor of Mashable said people shouldn't freak out about the move since Facebook regularly makes these purchases and lets companies run independently by themselves.
