Egyptian court suspends YouTube over anti-Islam film
February 10 , 2013
An Egyptian court has ordered the suspension of YouTube for a month for broadcasting a film insulting the Prophet Mohammad, according to state media reports on Saturday.
The country's administrative court ordered the ministries of communication and investment to block the online video service, which is owned by Google, in the country because it had carried the film Innocence of Muslims.
The 13-minute video was made in the United States and triggered a wave of anti-American unrest in Egypt, Libya and several other Islamic countries in September.
The video portrays the Prophet as a womanizer and leader of a bloodthirsty gang of men.
