Dutch court orders Facebook to identify publisher of revenge porn video

  • A Dutch court has ordered social media firm Facebook to hand over the revenge porn publisher’s identity.

Failure to comply would mean its servers can be opened up to an external investigator.

The judgment by the Amsterdam court came after a woman sued the tech firm after a video of her appeared on Facebook in January. The video, which showed her performing a sex act on her boyfriend, was reportedly made in 2011 when both were minors.

Facebook said that the account was deleted “before we received any request for user data” and hence “all information about it” was removed from the firm’s servers.
