Disappearance of MH370 prompts trial of more efficient plane tracking system

  • Australia, Malaysia and Indonesia will carry out a trial of a new system to track planes in the wake of last year’s mysterious disappearance of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.

Despite a massive search operation, no trace of the flight, which was going from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, was ever found.

The new method reportedly reduces the tracking time for planes from every 30-40 minutes to 15 minutes. In case a plane deviates from the route, the tracking rate can be reduced to five minutes or even less.
