Digital music sales overtake CDs

Digital music sales have surpassed those for CDs for the first time in the UK.
Revenue from downloads and streaming services made up 56 percent of the $239.6 million that customers spent in the first quarter of the year.
Sales of formats such as CDs and vinyl dropped 15 percent, standing at $106.5 million.
Album downloads soared by 22 percent during the same period and brought in more income than single downloads.
