In a surprise announcement, first-person shooter ‘Destiny’ was declared the best game at this year’s British Academy game awards.
Developed by American studio Bungie, its reviews had been mixed and it did not win in any other category at the awards.
Bungie's president Harold Ryan described the game as a “labor of love”, and thanked the fans.
The best British game award went to ‘Monument Valley’, while ‘Never Alone’ bagged the best debut game prize.
