Daimler seeks license for testing self-driving trucks on German roads
July 28 , 2015
Daimler is hoping it will get the approval to test self-driving trucks on roads in Germany this year. The car manufacturer said it was positive of getting the certification in the next few weeks.
The firm has already started road-tests of its autonomous trucks in the US. A human driver is continuously present, but the vehicle is controlled by the computer. A company executive told the BBC that the system could be compared to an aircraft’s autopilot mode.
