Chinese firm Baidu will launch driverless car in 2015
June 10 , 2015
Chinese firm Baidu has announced its decision to launch a driverless car later this year, according to media reports.
The internet giant had previously indicated that it was working on such a model. Baidu is collaborating with an unnamed car maker on the project, said Jin Wang, the company’s senior vice-president.
The Chinese firm is in competition with Google, which announced in May that its self-driving cars will hit the roads near its headquarters in summer.
