Change cockpit display screens in Boeing planes, airlines told

  • The US air safety regulator has told airlines to replace or modify the display units in the cockpits of Boeing planes.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, tests have shown that mobile phone and computer signals could lead to the screens going blank.

However, Honeywell, the manufacturer of the display screens, has said that such problems had not been witnessed in-flight, and the company had worked with Boeing regarding this two years ago.
