Blackberry hits 1 million Z10 sales
March 29 , 2013
Mobile phone maker Blackberry revealed on Thursday it has sold one million of its new Z10 smartphones.
In better than expected results, the company said it made profits of $98 million in the quarter in comparison to a major loss in the same period last year.
The Z10 handset is considered vital to the future of Blackberry, which has failed to keep up with new Apple and Android phones.
The model has been on sale for a month in the UK, Canada and other markets.
It made a muted debut a week ago in the United States, Blackberry's most important market.
Industry have welcomed the results but maintain it is too early to judge the success of the Z10 and its sister device the Q10.
