'Artist-owned' music subscription service Tidal re-launched

  • Tidal, a music subscription service, which has been re-launched at an event in New York saw several artists including Madonna and Kanye West announcing their co-ownership of the service.

    Tidal, which is offering 25 million tracks, was first launched in October and subsequently bought by the rapper and businessman Jay Z.

    It is being described as the first such “artist-owned” platform and aims to compete with services such as Google Play and Spotify.
