Apple unveils iTunes Radio and iOS 7 revamp
June 12 , 2013
Apple has unveiled its music streaming service, iTunes Radio, as well as a revamp of its mobile software.
The announcement was made at Apple’s annual developers’ conference in San Francisco on Monday evening.
iTunes Radio has been a highly anticipated new addition to the redesigned iOS mobile platform.
It will be launched in the fall and will be available for free with ads across the iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.
Much like rivals Pandora and Google’s All Access, it will allow listeners to listen to around 200 featured stations and customize their own radio stations.
Speaking on the rehaul of iOS 7, Apple described it as “the most revolutionary re-design of its operating system since the iPhone was introduced in 2007”.
The operating system features a streamlined, translucent design and a new palette of colors.
Apple plans to launch iOS 7 in the fall.
