November 6 , 2012
Apple sold three million of its new iPads in the first three days of the tablet computers being made available.
Sales of the 7.9-inch iPad mini and 4G 9.7-inch version, both Wi-Fi only models, were double the first-weekend sales of the Wi-Fi iPad sold in March, Apple announced on Monday.
Apple did not reveal the exact number of iPad minis sold. The iPad mini is a smaller version of the original tablet and is designed to mark the group’s foray into a segment dominated by Amazon and Google.
