Apple reveals U.S. data requests in wake of Prism leaks
June 18 , 2013
Apple is the latest firm to reveal details of data requests from US authorities.
The tech giant said it received requests for information linked with around 9,000-10,000 accounts or devices between December and May.
The requests included "national security matters".
Following last week’s expose by The Guardian and Washington Post of the existence of Prism, a program that gives the National Security Agency access to user data, tech firms such as Google, Facebook, Yahoo have come under immense pressure to divulge information on demands for information.
