Apple reportedly working on cheaper iPhone
January 9 , 2013
Apple is working on a cheaper version of its iPhone, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal on Tuesday.
The device, which could be released this year, is similar to the existing iPhone but reportedly uses less expensive materials such as a casing made of polycarbonate plastic.
The product potentially represents the first time the firm has extended its range of smartphones since launching the original iPhone in 2007.
Apple did not comment on the report.
