Amazon workers in Germany stage second strike over higher pay
May 28 , 2013
Employees at Internet retailer Amazon.com's German operations went on a second daylong strike on Monday in a dispute over pay and benefits.
According to trade union Verdi, workers at Amazon's logistics center in Leipzig stopped working from 12:30 pm local time.
Last week, 600 workers at its facilities in Bad Hersfeld and around 300 in Leipzig staged a similar strike.
Amazon employs close to 9,000 people in Germany.
In recent weeks, it has faced criticism over failing to agree on employment conditions implemented by other similar firms.
