You could win at laughing
November 18 , 2013
It might sound like a joke but a leader of the laughing competition movement said they're now trying to "demonstrate that laughter is a sport."
Laughter events have been held in several countries including Japan and the US. "Punching people in the fact is a sport, poking people with sticks is a sport ... so why not have a sport about the pursuit of human joy," Gary Nerenberg asked.
A woman involved referred to the sport as being a "peace movement" and said it's all about "spreading joy."
One of the members in the audience, who studies positive psychology said there is no need to fake it and you can "just allow it to happen."
