World Cup Cricket 2015: India defeat Pakistan by 76 runs

  • Continuing their World Cup domination over their South Asian rivals, India overwhelmed Pakistan by 76 runs in their opening match of the tournament in Adelaide on Sunday, led by a composed century by Virat Kohli.

Kohli, who scored 107, was assisted by Shikhar Dhawan’s 73 and Suresh Raina’s 74, which took the world champions to a respectable 300-7. Sohail Khan was the pick of the Pakistani bowlers, finishing with figures of 5-55

Pakistan, the World Cup winners in 1992, rarely looked threatening while chasing and were bundled out for 224.

India have now won all their six World Cup encounters against Pakistan.
