Wimbledon: Roger Federer beats Andy Murray 7-5 7-5 6-4, reaches final

  • Roger Federer ended Andy Murray’s Wimbledon hopes, defeating the Briton in straight sets in the semi-final in a controlled and confident display of tennis.

The seven-time champion prevailed over Murray 7-5 7-5 6-4 to set up a potentially pulsating final with world number one Novak Djokovic. This will be the 33-year-old Federer’s tenth Wimbledon final.

Sunday’s match will also be his 26th Grand Slam final. If he wins, the Swiss will become the first man in Wimbledon history to win the title eight times.
