Wimbledon: Federer, Murray advance to quarter-finals

  • Second seed Roger Federer eased past Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut in straight sets to reach the quarter-finals at Wimbledon.

    The seven-time champion defeated Agut 6-2 6-2 6-3 to set up a clash with Gilles Simon.

    Britain’s Andy Murray also advanced to the quarters after prevailing over big serving Ivo Karlovic in four sets. The third seed and 2013 champion took more than three hours to defeat the Croat 7-6 (9-7) 6-4 5-7 6-4.

    Meanwhile, world number one Serena Williams beat sister Venus in straight sets to enter the quarters.
