Wigan sign Ivorian Arouna Kone from Levante
August 15 , 2012
Cote D’Ivoire striker Arouna Kone from La Liga side Levante has been signed by British soccer club Wigan for an undisclosed fee.
Kone scored 15 goals in 34 games last season to boost Levante to a sixth-place finish in La Liga.
The 28-year-old was on a loan spell from Sevilla and only completed a permanent switch to Levante this summer.
Kone, who has signed a three-year contract with Wigan, has been capped 35 times for his country and scored nine goals.
He replaces forward Hugo Rodallega, who signed with Fulham on a free transfer after his contract expired.
