Video game star to get a P-1A visa
August 11 , 2013
Danny "Shiphtur" Le is the first ever video game player to be given a P-1A visa. He is now supposed to train and play with his new team in California.
Le's attempts to be a part of a US team had initially been rejected by the officials until the lawyers for Riot Games intervened.
A Riot VP said "we had to show this was a profession." He explained that they had to make the case appear just like "Major League Baseball or the National Hockey League"
A number of other video game players have been granted similar visas after Le's victory.
