Two-year doping ban on cyclist Jonathan Tiernan-Locke

  • Jonathan Tiernan-Locke was banned for two years for an anti-doping violation, according to media reports. The British rider was also stripped of his Tour of Britain title, which he won in 2012.

The ban was imposed by the International Cycling Union (UCI) after discrepancies were found in his biological passport.

Tiernan-Locke’s contract with Team Sky has been terminated. Sir Dave Brailsford, the team principal, said there was “no place for cheats” in the team.
