Tiger Woods ruled out for Ryder Cup

  • Tiger Woods won’t be participating in September’s Ryder Cup because of a back injury, according to media reports.

The World number 11 had surgery earlier this year and has been advised by doctors to avoid playing. “I’ve been told by my doctors and trainer that my back muscles need to be rehabilitated and healed,” he said.

The 38-year-old has been part of seven Ryder Cups.

After his surgery in March he could not play for three months.
