The Dolphins suspended player over racism
November 6 , 2013
The reason for the suspension of guard Richie Incognito on Sunday has become clear. Reports suggest that the Miami Dolphins punished the player for having a long history of harassing teammates with racial slurs.
He sent an offensive voicemail to Jonathan Martin in April and the Dolphins as well as NFL have copies of it. Incognito has not only used racial slurs on several occasions but has also used "derogatory terms referring to the female anatomy and sexual orientation," as per ESPN.
"He's done," a source said. "He'll never play another game here."
Martin left the team a little while after "a lunch room incident." Incognito also forced him to contribute $15K for a team trip to Las Vegas, even though Martin wasn't going on it.
