Tampa Bay Lightning sack head coach

  • The Tampa Bay Lightning announced on Sunday it had sacked head coach Guy Boucher.

The NHL team’s vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman said that assistants Martin Raymond and Dan Lacroix would share the coaching responsibilities until a replacement is found.

Tampa Bay enjoyed great success under Boucher during his first year going 46-25-11 in 2010-11 and reaching the Eastern Conference Finals.

Last season, the Lightning began to regress and missed the playoffs after posting a 38-36-8 record.
