Sydney Test: Australia take 348-run lead

  • Australia scored a quick 251 for six, pushing their lead over India to 348, before the day of play was stopped by rain in the fourth Test at Sydney, according to media reports. 

    India were dismissed for 475 a little before tea, giving the hosts a 97-run first innings lead, which they then consolidated.    

    Chris Rogers’s 56 and Captain Steve Smith’s 71 were the highlights of the Australian innings.

    India’s skipper Virat Kohli also had a great run with the bat, scoring 147 in the first innings, taking his series tally to 646.
