South Korean golfer Bae Sang-moon loses military service appeal

  • South Korean golfer Bae Sang-moon has lost an appeal seeking to delay mandatory military service. All able-bodied men in South Korea between the age of 18 and 35 have to complete two years military service.

Bae, a two-time PGA Tour winner who is based in the US, was hoping to delay his service so that he could concentrate on his golfing career. But the court ruled in favor of the military’s decision. Bae, whose PGA ranking is 107, said he “humbly” accepted the ruling.
