'Something special' coming up despite fall in profits, says United
September 11 , 2014
Manchester United has announced an 84% drop in profit though annual revenues were up by 19%.
Ed Woodward, the club’s executive chairman, described the 2013-14 season as “challenging and disappointing” but said United was on the cusp of “something special”.
The steep fall in profits from £146m to £23.8m have been attributed mainly to a tax credit that was claimed in the last financial year.
Woodward said United was excited on having “one of world's best managers”.
