December 23 , 2014
There are concerns about Australian all-rounder Shane Watson, who was hit on the head by a James Pattinson bouncer in Melbourne during the team's morning training session in the MCG nets, according to media reports.
According to a Cricket Australia spokesman, Watson was a bit shaken, but alright and would play for the Boxing Day Test against India.
The bouncer hit Watson on the helmet during the morning practice session and the 33-year-old all-rounder was floored, landing on his backside. He slowly walked out of the nets as the team doctor Peter Brukner attended to him.The death of Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes last month has raised worldwide concerns about batsmen getting struck in the head. Australia has established a 2-0 lead in the four-Test series against India.
