Serena Williams Beats Petra Kvitova To Reach Wimbledon Semi-Finals

Serena Williams secured her place in the Wimbledon semi-finals by defeating the defending champion Petra Kvitova in straight sets. In the quarter-finals held at the All England Club on Tuesday, Serena served 13 aces to defeat the reigning champion 6-3, 7-5. Serena, four-time Wimbledon champion, will next meet Victoria Azarenka. Second seed Victoria beat Austria-born Tamira Paszek 6-3, 7-6, (7-4). If Serena secures a victory over Victoria, she shall make it to her seventh Wimbledon finals. Also on Tuesday, Angelique Kerbe beat fellow-German Sabine Lisicki 6-3, 6-7, (7-9), 7-5. Spain's David Ferrer defeated Argentina's Juan Martin del Potro 6-3, 6-2, 6-3 at the Center Court to reach the Wimbledon quarter-final.
