October 15 , 2014
A tense Euro qualifier match between rivals Serbia and Albania had to be abandoned in the 41st minute amid extraordinary scenes after a drone draped in an Albanian flag and carrying a controversial political message flew over the pitch and sparked clashes, according to media reports.
As tempers ran high, a Serbian player caught the drone, but a number of Albania players intervened and fans invaded the pitch.
The referee, Martin Atkinson, took the players off the field, and later it was confirmed that play had been abandoned, with no team scoring a goal.
