Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini banned for eight years from all football-related activities

  • Following an ethics investigation, Sepp Blatter, FIFA president, and Michel Platini, UEFA boss, have for eight years been banned from all football–related activities. As per media reports, both Blatter and Platini have been found guilty of ethics code breaches surrounding a £1.3m "disloyal payment" made to Platini in the year 2011. The bans immediately come into force; however, both the men have denied any wrongdoings.
