Ronaldo scores five goals as Real Madrid thrash Granada 9-1

  • Real Madrid crushed Granada 9-1 at the Bernabeu, with World player of the year Cristiano Ronaldo scoring five goals.

    Gareth Bale opened the score for Real in the 25th minute before Ronaldo struck thrice in eight minutes to take the first-half lead to 4-0.

    Karim Benzema scored two goals in the 52nd and 56th minutes, with Ronaldo chipping in another between the two. A fifth Ronaldo goal and an own goal took the Real count to 9.

    Robert Ibanez scored the lone goal for Granada.
