Rodman apologizes for N. Korea comments
January 10 , 2014
Dennis Rodman blamed stress and alcohol for his embarrassing comments on imprisoned American missionary Kenneth Bae. "Some of my teammates were leaving because of pressure from their families and business associates," he said.
He mentioned that he was drunk at the time of the interview but "it's not an excuse" for embarrassing so many people.
"At this point I should know better than to make political statements," he said. "I'm truly sorry."
Rodman also sang "Happy Birthday" to Kim Jong Un before joining some former NBA players for a game against N. Korea, which the Americans lost.
It's not clear what else he has planned for the trip or when he is scheduled to return to the U.S.
