Real Madrid sign James Rodriguez

  • Real Madrid have signed James Rodriguez, the Colombian star forward who top scored in the 2014 World Cup.

    The 23-year-old’s transfer from Monaco is said to be for a fee exceeding £70m. Rodriguez, who won the Golden Boot for scoring six goals in five World Cup matches, has signed a six-year deal with the Spanish club.

    Florentino Perez, president of Real Madrid, described Rodriguez as “one of the best players at the World Cup.”

    The Colombian said joining Madrid was a “dream come true.”
