Rams make NFL history

  • The St. Louis Rams have selected Michael Sam out of a total of 256 players, making him the first openly gay player to have ever been drafted in the NFL.

AP reports that the 24-year-old watched the selection in San Diego while sitting next to his boyfriend. He later thanked the team and the city of St. Louis on Twitter, adding that he's using this opportunity to "achieve greatness."

However, he may have to face difficulties since the St. Louis Post Dispatch noted that the media will definitely follow him.
