Pele transferred to special care unit, 'doing fine'

  • Brazilian football legend Pele has said he was “doing fine” as he was transferred to a “special room within the hospital” after treatment for urinary infection, according to media reports.

Sao Paulo’s Albert Einstein Hospital said Pele, 74, was moved after he suffered “clinical instability.”

In a message on Twitter, he said he appreciated people visiting the hospital to see him, but he needed to “continue my treatment and recovery in peace.”

The former footballer is considered by many to be the greatest player in the history of the sport.
