Olympic skier is stable after surgery
February 17 , 2014
Olympic skier Maria Komissarova underwent a "successful" spine surgery after she broke her back.
Reports suggest that she is now in a stable condition and the accident didn't result in damaging her spinal cord. Komissarova got a metal implant and surgeons rebuilt one of her vertebrae.
Vladimir Putin is expected to pay her a visit and we won't be seeing her on the slopes during this year's Games.
The Journal reports she was conscious following the accident.
