Olympian judoka Lourembam Brojeshori Devi dies

  • 32-year-old Olympian judoka Lourembam Brojeshori Devi who represented India in the 2000 Sydney Olympics and in the 2002 Asian Games died on July 21 in Coimbatore. Manipur's sports fraternity paid its last respect to the Olympian on Wednesday. 

    Brojeshori Devi had been at the CRPF Training Centre in Coimbatore for the last two months and had also reportedly admitted herself to hospital because of stomach pain. The reason for her death is not yet confirmed and the post-mortem report is yet to come.
