Novak Djokovic loses in third round at Cincinnati Masters
August 15 , 2014
In the run-up to the U.S. Open, Novak Djokovic crashed out of the Cincinnati Masters in Ohio, on 14 August. He was defeated by Tommy Robredo of Spain in straight sets, losing 7-6, 7-5. The first set was hard fought, with the tiebreak going Robredo’s way at 8-6.
Djokovic has not been successful at this tournament, losing to John Isner last year in the quarterfinals.
Speaking to reporters Djokovic said "It's unfortunate, but it's more than obvious I'm not playing even close to what I'm supposed to play. I have to keep on working and trying to get better for the U.S.Open."
Djokovic has looked out of form lately, losing to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at a tournament in Toronto last week.
